Sand Lake- Donald C. Dobert, 81, of Stagecoach Road went home to his Lord on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at his residence after a long illness. Born and raised in Troy, Don was the son of the late Fredrick C. and Ruth E. Wagner Dobert and the husband of Patricia Coraldi Dobert. Don was a graduate of Troy High School and had served in the US Navy from 1953- 1955 seeing Cuba and French Morocco. He resided in Sand Lake since 1968. Don retired in 1997 after 36 years at Russell Sage College where he was a Plumber. He had at one time served as president of the union, at the college. He attended, Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Church of the Covenant and Calvary Chapel before becoming an active member of the West Stephentown Baptist Church. He also served on the board of Christian music ministry. He loved children and served as a Sunday school teacher and Superintendent. Don was a deeply spiritual man, giving generously to many. He loved sharing what he saw God doing in his life with others. Don enjoyed raising animals and gardening. He enjoyed responsible hunting and fishing and loved walking in the woods or paddling a boat. Music, art and writing were talents he pursued mostly in his younger days. Don was the brother of the late Alfred W. Dobert. Survivors in addition to his wife include his daughters Karen (R. Lindsay) Todd of Sand Lake and Patricia A. (John) Paccione of Voorheesville, his brothers and sisters Kenneth Dobert of Troy, Warren Dobert of Averill Park, Elizabeth Kilcullen of East Greenbush, Doris Horracks of Halfmoon, Frederick W. Dobert of Poestenkill and Wesley Dobert of Troy, his grandchildren Kirsten Benamati, Johanna Allen, Noelle, Joel, Annelise and Bethan Todd and his first great grandchild William E. Benamati. Relatives and friends are invited to Don’s Memorial Service 7 p.m. on Friday November 14, 2014 at the West Stephentown Baptist Church 1672 NY 43 West Stephentown, NY., followed by a reception. If desired the family requests donations in memory of Donald C.
