Averill Park- Donna R. Gordon, 75, of Holcomb Road, died on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a long illness. Born in Elmira, NY, Donna was the daughter of the late Carl and Dorothy Smith Swimelar and wife of the late Richard D. Gordon and the longtime companion of the late Arnold Hoch. Donna had resided in the Elmira area until 1970 when she moved to the Averill Park area. Donna had been a stay at home mom until 1974 when she went to work for the NYS Insurance Dept. in Albany where she was a clerk. She retired in 1999. Donna enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, playing cards, traveling and family game night. Donna was an animal lover and would have weekly visits with her friend Marilyn. 
Survivors include her daughters Debbie (Rob) Inman of Troy, Cheri Gordon and Terry Gordon both of Averill Park, her sisters Carol (George) Claypool of Sayre, PA and Kathy (Ken)Hansen of Horseheads, NY, her brother Jeffrey (Kathy) Swimelar of Pine City, NY, her granddaughter Adriane Inman of Troy along with her pets Alice, Diego, Daisy and Milky Way. 
Funeral Service Tuesday 10 am at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park. 
Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral chapel on Monday 4-7 pm. 
Interment Elmwood Cemetery West Sand Lake, NY.
