Castleton- Augusta B. Ayers, 101, of the Riverside Nursing Home and formerly of East Greenbush, died on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 after a long illness. Born in Nassau, Augusta was the daughter of the late Walter and Maude Face Martin and wife of the late Calvin C. Ayers Sr. Augusta had worked at the Watervliet Arsenal during WWII and had also helped her husband on the family farm. She had resided in Castleton since May of 2006. Mother of the late Lawrence Miller, Floyd Miller, Calvin F. Ayers, Edward Ayers and Rose Miller, Sister of the late Viola McMannus, Walter Martin and James Martin. Survivors include her children Marjorie Bereznak of West Sand Lake, Chester Ayers of East Nassau, Calvin C. Ayers Jr. of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Joyce Thomas of Skaneateles, NY, her sisters Gladys Strauss of East Nassau and Maude Beurgeron of Bradenton, FL, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral Thursday 1p.m. at the Perry Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park. Relatives and Friends are invited and may call at the funeral chapel on Thursday 11-1 prior to the service. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery East Schodack.
