East Schodack-Ethel M. Wagner, 80, of Brook Pointe a longtime resident of Sand Lake died on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at St. Peter’s Hospital after a brief illness. Born and raised the family farm in Germantown, Columbia County, Ethel was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Petsel Kahle and wife of the late Lester C. Wagner Jr. Ethel was a graduate of the Germantown High School and the Austin Beauty School. She ran a Hair Salon in West Albany. After her marriage in 1961, Ethel became a stay-at-home mom and moved to Lindeman Road in Sand Lake in 1971. After Lester’s death in 2017 Ethel moved to Brook Pointe. Ethel worked for Walden Book Store in Colonie Center and then ran her own Ceramics Studio and sold at area craft fairs. Ethel was a communicant of St. Henry’s Church, a member of the Castleton Seniors and an Honorary member of the Taborton Fire Co.
Survivors include her daughters Lisa (Robert) Lynch of East Nassau and Tina Wagner of Schenectady, her son Lester (Jaimie) Wagner of Averill Park, her brother George Kahle of Poughkeepsie, her grandchildren Jenna and Lexy Lynch, Garrett and Olin Wagner, her cousins Margaret and Richard Rendert and Jeanette and Rich Ferranti. Ethel was the sister of the late Katherine Hull, Alma Sawlpaugh and Beatrice Potts.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call 1-4 pm on Sunday, February 21 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park.
​Funeral service will be private for the family.
In accordance with most recent mandate’s masks, social distancing and occupancy levels will be observed in funeral chapel and church.
Interment St. Henry’s Cemetery.
