Alexander Francis Clement passed away peacefully at his home in Elizabeth WV on April 4th, 2026. He was 87 years old and was also known as Clem. Alexander was born on April 13, 1938, in Pittsfield, MA to the late Alexander David Clement and Esther (Garrity) Clement. He was a long time resident of the Averill Park, NY area where his children grew up.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Carol (Robinson) Clement and his two sons; Alexander Clement, Daniel (Terri) Clement, and four daughters, Kim (Larry) Langlais, Chris (Steve) McCrea, Mary Ellen (Tom) Wickham, and Jennae (Mike) Bates as well as 16 grandchildren & 11 great-grandchildren.He also leaves three brothers; John Clement; Stephen (Billie Jo) Clement, Andrew (Lucinda) Clement, and his sister, Marie (William) Patriquin. He was predeceased by his sister, Rosney Yemmo and his grandson, Jacob Bates.
Alexander was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and worked for many years as a boilermaker. While he valued his career and service, what truly defined him was his willingness to help others. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need, no matter the situation. He was mechanically minded, loved working on cars and enjoyed tinkering with anything he could get his hands on.
He was a proud man of faith and was one of the original founders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church at Kinderhook in upstate New York. He will be remembered for his kind heart, listening ear and Jesus Saves belt buckles.
The family would like to thank the ambulance crews for helping, families like the Schrebe's & Boyces', plus un-named neighbors and friends they met over the 18 years that they lived in WV. We especially appreciate everyone who welcomed mom and dad into the community and never treated them as outsiders. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services held at this time.
