Averill Park-Alice B. Knapp, 75, of Burden Lake Road passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 3, 2021. Born in Schaghticoke, and a graduate of Hoosic Valley High School and HVCC, Alice was the daughter of the late William and Alice Burdick and wife of 55 years to Edward W. Knapp, Sr. Alice had been a resident of Averill Park since 1971. During her working career Alice worked at Burton's Rest Home, and a number of pharmacies including Hannan's and Rite Aid. Alice enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially playing cards and scrabble. She was also an avid bird watcher and had the uncanny ability of pointing out the different species in her bird feeders with the greatest of ease. She also enjoyed caring for the many dogs and cats she had over the years. Survivors in addition to her husband, include her children Denise Chinski of Speigletown and Edward W. Knapp Jr. (Veselina) of New York City, as well as her grandchild Emily Sarah Knapp. Alice is also survived by two brothers; William and Dane (Karen), as well as two sisters; Jacklyn (Daniel) and Deena (Gary) along with a number of nieces and nephews. It was also Alice's wish to remember her dear and personal friend Ila and her close friends Pat and Tom. A special note of appreciation for the care provided at Samaritan Hospital and in particular to Brittany and Asmaou who kept her company. Relatives and friends are invited and may call 4-7 p.m. on Friday, July 9, 2021 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park followed by a Service at 7 p.m. Desired donations in memory of Alice may be made to the Averill Park Fire Department PO Box 116 Averill Park, NY 12018 or the American Lung Association 418 Broadway 1st Floor Albany, NY 12207 (www.lung.org) Visit www.perrykomdat.com for directions and a private guestbook.
