Arlowiene M. “Arlie” Petrone

West Sand Lake- Arlowiene M. “Arlie” Petrone, 78, of Old Best Road passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at the Fulton Center in Gloversville after a period of declining health. 

Born in Long Lake, Arlie was the daughter of the late John and Irene Townsend Plumley and the wife of the late Benjamin J. Petrone. Arlie had resided in the area for a number of years and was a manager of the Jiff-E-Mart in Averill Park for a time. She and Ben were long time owners and ran the Our Favorite Place Game Farm in West Sand Lake. Arlie was a longtime member of the First Bible Baptist Church in West Sand Lake where she sang in the choir and participated in Bible Study.

Arlie was the sister of the late John E. Plumley, Jeanne Mulson and Edward Mahar.

Survivors include her sister Leila (Ronald) Fernett of Nassau her brother John Plumley of Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews. Arlie also leaves behind the Petrone children Benjamin Petrone Jr, Carla Engwer and Mark Petrone.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service 7 pm on Wednesday November 4, 2026 at the First Bible Baptist Church 4331 NY 150 West Sand Lake, NY.
