West Sand Lake- Barbara J. Cesta, 75, of Rte. 150 died on Thursday, January 14, 2016 after a long illness. Born and raised in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Archie and Rosemary Settanny Fazio. Barbara was a graduate of Troy High School and Russell Sage College. Barbara grew up at her father and uncle’s restaurant, the Red Front Restaurant in Troy. Prior to residing in West Sand Lake Barbara had resided in Poestenkill. During her career, Barbara worked for the Audit Dept. of Rensselaer County, the Purchasing Dept of the New York Senate and had been a property manager for the United Realty Group in Troy. During her work career, Barbara also enjoyed selling homes for Century 21 Realty. Barbara was involved in Rensselaer County politics and was a former member of the Sand Lake Board of Assessment & Review. She enjoyed reading, traveling, time at the ocean, shopping and time spent with her family. Barbara was a proud and devoted mother and grandmother and she cherished the time spent with her granddaughters and their Thursday night dates.
Survivors include her longtime companion Edgar R. Stillman of Brunswick, her beloved children Michele (Mark) Bowman of Poestenkill, Fred Cesta of Clearwater, Fl., Marc Cesta of Poestenkill and Christopher Cesta of Austin, TX and the granddaughters she was so proud of, Courtney and Kelsey Bowman. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park on Sunday 1-4 p.m. followed by a service at 4p.m.
