Barbara J. Martin

Sand Lake- Barbara J. Martin, 79, of Roaser Road passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at her home. Born and raised in Albany, Barbara was the daughter of the late Sigmund and Helen Kot Radzyminski and the beloved wife of Edward J. Martin.

Barbara was a graduate of Albany High School and went on to receive a Bachelors Degree from Maria College. After graduating Barbara went to work at Siena College where she was Secretary to the Dean. After the birth of her children, Barbara became a full-time mother and housewife. This included being active in her children’s activities including Brownies and Girl Scouts along with helping with the Boy Scouts.

Barbara and Ed had resided in Sand Lake for over 40 years and have been communicants of St. Henry’s Church in Averill Park.They have both enjoyed many years at their chalet at Brant Lake and Barbara filled her time Quilting. She belonged to some Quilting Guilds and in her younger days helped with building the family homes.

Survivors in addition to her husband include her son Edward J. Martin Jr. of Boston, MA her daughter Tracy Daubel of Walden, NY and 5 grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call 1-4 pm on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11 am on Monday, December 22, 2025 at St. Henry’s Church 39 Old Rte. 66 Averill Park with interment to follow at Albany Rural Cemetery.
