Averill Park-Our beautiful and courageous Barbara Ann Mooney has gone home to be with her Savior as her time here on earth is over. After suffering a series of strokes and a heart attack, she is finally at peace.
She was born on March 1, 1940 in Schodack, NY, a tiny town in upstate NY, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Irving Bulan and is survived by her loving husband, Richard T. Mooney, 6 children, John S. (Beth Anne) Holser, Barbara Holser (the late Dave Tator) Holser, Daniel J. (Debbie) Holser, Wendy (Jorge) Holser – Hijos, Suzanne (Tom) Long, Step-Daughter Sandy (Late Bill) Albrecht. She is also previously departed by her youngest courageous daughter, Darcy L Holser.
In addition, Barbara is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Jamie Silber, Catrina Sanchez, Vincent DeFazio, Brianna Holser, Devin Holser, Ryan Long, and Jack Long, and is predeceased by Keith Dominski, and her great-grandchildren are Vincenzo Sanchez, Kaleb Silber, Kaydence Silber, Sofia Sanchez, Brayden Dominski, and Luciano Sanchez. She is also survived by her sister Elizabeth “Sissy”(late Robert) Kendgia , and her brother Clark “Skeet”(Regina) Bulan.
Our beloved Barbara, aka Jazzy, was a force to be reckoned with. She was a progressive woman who burnt her bra in the 70s, found holistic remedies to heal her youngest daughter to health when the medical profession gave up on her, and fit an associate's degree at HVCC (Hudson Valley Community College) in her spare time.
When she set her mind to do something, she was unstoppable. Her life was a journey of joy and pain, and she never complained, no matter how hard things were.
She owned and operated several businesses earlier in life and excelled with her entrepreneurial spirit.
When Jazzy walked into a room, everyone could feel her energy, she was a magnet, and others were naturally drawn to her. She could always sniff out the underdogs and was driven to protect and advocate for them as if she had these superpowers ordained by Jesus Christ.
Her love for God and her family was second to none. She spoke about all of her children with such a sweet tone you wanted to listen.
She was the "life" of the party and someone you would call a true friend.
She will be missed and admired in a way only a few can explain.
Until we meet again…
