Sand Lake- Carol A. Gaunay, 55, of Lindeman Road passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at her home surrounded by friends and family after a brief illness. Born in Troy and raised in Wynantskill, Carol was the daughter of Harold T. Gaunay of East Greenbush and the late Margaret “Midge” Brearton Gaunay.
Carol was educated in the Gardner Dickinson School and was a 1984 Graduate of Troy High School. She served in the Army as a Medical Specialist. Following her discharge Carol attended HVCC and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Carol was a registered Nurse in area hospitals for many years. She was a former member and volunteer with the Wynantskill Fire Dept. and the North Greenbush Ambulance. Carol wanted to be remembered for being a devoted health care worker and one that enjoyed a good time.
Survivors in addition to her father include her brothers Timothy (Angela) Gaunay of No. Greenbush and James (Karen) Gaunay of Malta, her nieces and nephews Eric, Ashley, and Kristin Gaunay, and Justin Cooper. Carol was the mom to many canine companions in her life and is survived by her girl Nel. Carol was also survived by many friends and coworkers.
At Carol’s request there will be no public services.
