Charlotte E. “Charlie” Bond

West Sand Lake- Charlotte E. “Charlie” Bond, 72, of Denver Drive passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, June 20, 2021. Born in Catskill on February 14, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Sigurd Niekamp and Grace Vedder Proper and wife of 47 years to John E. “Jeb” Bond. Charlie was raised and educated in Kingston and resided in Saugerties before moving to Sand Lake in 1978. Charlie was a homemaker and had been an avid golfer and gardener. She loved critters, large and small, and made sure her pets got plenty of care and affection. She enjoyed shopping, especially when finding a great deal on some shoes or a pocketbook. She liked scratch-off tickets, and listening to a wide variety of music.
Charlotte was the mother of the late Shannon C. Joy, sister of the late Stanley R. Neikamp and Norma J. Gogger.
Survivors in addition to her husband include her loving son Joshua E. Bond, brothers Kenneth (Kathy) Proper, Herman (Susan) Neikamp, Warner (Carolyn) Keesler, sisters Janet Van Schaack, Jeanette Whittaker, Karen Shutter, Marlene Proper, Edith Biesele and Constance June, sister-in-law Cheryl (James) Barker and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
