Sand Lake- Clarence C. “Mike” Momrow Jr., 79, of Momrow Road, died on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at St. Peters Hospital after being stricken at his home on Wednesday. Mike was born in Troy and was the son of the late Clarence C. and Etta I. Smith Momrow Sr. and the beloved husband of the late Eleonora Goriup Momrow who died on June 23, 2017. Mike grew up on the family farm in Sand Lake and had been a driver for Ackner Fuels for 25 years before running Bear Mountain Trucking from 1993 until his retirement in 2013.
Mike was an avid NASCAR and Lebanon Valley Fan and was a sponsor of the J.R. Heffner racing team. He was a former member of the Black River Raiders Snowmobile Club in Sand Lake. Mike enjoyed camping for many years and planting his vegetable garden every year.
Survivors include his daughters Sharon (Donald) Benson of Sand Lake, Diane (Doug Jr.) Dyer of Melrose, and Patricia (Darrell) Dutcher of Brainard, his son Michael (Danielle) Momrow of Ballston Lake, his sisters Mary VanDeWater of Buskirk, Janet Knapp of Troy, Linda McIntyre of Colonie and his brother William Momrow of Sand Lake, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral 10 a.m. Friday, June 1 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake, Averill Park followed with burial at the Taborton Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral chapel 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 31. Donations in memory of Clarence “Mike” Momrow may be made to the Community Hospice c/o St. Peters Hospital Foundation 310 So. Manning Blvd. Albany, NY 12208.
