Poestenkill-Clifford J. Dunworth, 78, of Rte. 351 died suddenly on Friday, October 28, 2022 at the Albany Medical Center surrounded by loved ones. Born in Rhinebeck, NY, Cliff was the son of the late George and Dorothy Johnson Dunworth and the beloved husband of Patricia Chartrand Dunworth. Cliff grew up on the Burden Lake Road and was a 1962 graduate of the Averill Park High School. Cliff served in the Navy from 1963-1965. He was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters local 7 while employed with Trojan Hardware in Troy, N.Y. for over 25 years, prior to starting and operating Park Plumbing in Averill Park with his long-time friend Harry Hall. Cliff enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, kayaking and vacationing at the ocean with his family. He was a member of the Stephentown Rod and Gun Club, the Poestenkill Historical Society, and the Model A Club. He enjoyed many good times traveling with Harry and Phillis Hall and Gary and Pat Charlton. Cliff enjoyed woodworking and building dollhouse miniatures which were published in The Miniatures Magazine. Cliff and his great-grandson Makhi shared many memories while spending time together in his woodworking shop.
Cliff was predeceased by his brother Robert Dunworth, nephew John Meyers, and best companion Daisy.
Survivors in addition to his wife includes his daughters Kristen (Mark) Masterson of Maryland, Terri, and step daughter Erin O’Connor of Latham, a sister Janet Meyers longtime resident of New York City, sister- in- law Peg Dunworth of Colonie, his grandchildren Thomas and Paul Masterson, Alison and Michael O’Connor and his great grandson Makhi Mauzon. Also survived by nieces and nephews lovingly knowing him as Uncle Cliffy.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 4-6:30 on Monday, November 7 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake, Averill Park, followed by a service at 6:30.
