Wynantskill- Craig G. Young, 75, of Worthington Terrace passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at home. Born in Troy, Craig was the son of the late E. Stanley and Maude Wynne Young and husband for 54 years of the late Gretchen Dingman Young.
Craig was a lifelong resident of the area and was a 1965 graduate of the Averill Park High School and HVCC then went to work for the NYS DOT in Albany. He was a Civil Engineer for the DOT and retired in 1997 after a 30-year career. Craig coached his daughter’s softball teams as they were growing up. He played softball with the state employee teams. Craig was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching different sports including NASCAR, the NY Giants, NY Yankees and the Rangers hockey. Craig was a lifelong car bug and enjoyed his Shelby Mustang. He enjoyed his pet dogs and cats during his lifetime.
Craig was the best friend brother of the late Wynn Young.
Survivors include his daughters Wendy (Richard Lawson) Young of East Nassau and Karen Young of Wynantskill his grandchildren Seth Parker, Isabella and Jared Maroncelli.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call 10-12 noon on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park followed by the funeral service at 12 noon.
In honor Craigs love of sports feel free to wear your favorite sports apparel.
Burial will follow the service at the Sand Lake Union Cemetery.
