New Lebanon- Dennis J. Lemner Sr., 77, of Lovers Lane passed away at his residence on Friday, April 24, 2026 after a long illness. Born in Troy and raised in Poestenkill, Dennis was the son of the late Joseph F. and Stasia Grygatis Lemner. Dennis was a 1966 graduate of the Averill Park High School and worked for Ray Bubie and Freihofers and then served in the Army in 1969 and 1970 when he was honorably discharged. Dennis started a 29-year career at the Watervliet Arsenal where he was a shipping clerk retiring in 2010.
Dennis had resided with his longtime companion Ruth Petell in New Lebanon since 2018. Dennis enjoyed hunting gardening yearly trips to Ogunquit Maine with his cherished grandchildren Joseph and Elizabeth, camping in the Adirondacks, and he was a Life member of the Sullivan Jones VFW Post in Poestenkill.
Dennis wishes to thank the Hematology/Oncology Department at the Stratton VA Hospital and the Community Hospice of Columbia County.
Dennis was the brother of the late Thomas J. and Jack Lemner.
Survivors in addition to Ruth include his children Nikki (Chris) Bolinski of Utica, Dennis (Veryleen) Lemner Jr. of Troy and Darci (Jeremiah) Primeau of East Greenbush, his brothers Joseph F. (Dee) Lemner of Rotterdam, Robert S. (Debbie)Lemner of Brunswick and Kenneth (Jeannie) Lemner of Wirtz, VA, his sister Mary Grace (Dave) Bulson of Brunswick, 8 grandchildren,7 great grandchildren and his best friend pup Dexter.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call 4-7 pm on Tuesday April 28, 2022 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park followed by a service.
Burial with honors will be held 11 am on Wednesday April 29, 2026 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. Arrive at front entrance at 10:45am.
