Dolores H. Peterson

March 28, 1933 — February 18, 2024

Schodack, New York

Schodack- It is with profound sadness we announce that our mom, Dolores H. Peterson, 90, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, February 18, 2024.

Born in Hudson, NY, Dolores was the daughter of the late Howard and Helen Miller Carle and wife for 47 years to Nils A. Peterson Sr.

Dolores was a devoted wife and a fierce but loving defender of her family. She took pride in knowing that she taught us all how to be self- sufficient, to work and provide for your family, keep a clean house, shop, cook and do the dishes. We also learned to wash, fold and put away the laundry. Mom enjoyed flowers, her houseplants and animals, especially Poodles. With Dad she enjoyed the times in Florida and trips to Vegas.

She will be sorely missed by many friends and family, but we take comfort knowing she is reunited with friends and family and sits at the table of the Lord.

Mom was predeceased by her sons Michael (Patty), John and Nils Jr. (Chris) she is survived by her children Sharon (Jack) Kornhaber, Robert (Cathie) Peterson, Scott Geofrey (Tracey) Peterson and Dolores “Dolly” Peterson, 16 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

Services will be private and Mom will be interred in the Woodlawn Cemetery in East Schodack.

Donations in memory of mom can be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, Albany County, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204 or the Columbia-Greene Humane Society, 111 Humane Society Road, Hudson NY 12534.
