Sand Lake- Donald (Bootjack) Budesheim, 82, of Taborton Rd passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Donald was born on October 5, 1943 in Brooklyn NY. He was the son of the late Adam and Edna Johnson Budesheim and beloved husband of Candy Budesheim for 52 years.

Donald was a life long resident of Taborton Rd. He was a devout member at Zion UCC of Taborton where he and his wife were married on July 21, 1974.

Donald joined the U.S. Army in 1961 and served until honorably discharged in 1967. Donald worked as a HVAC Technician at Hudson Valley Community College for 30 years and retired in 2005. In his younger years Bootjack enjoyed playing guitar and singing country music. He also enjoyed spending time on cruises, camping, and clamming with friends. He was a founding member of the Black River Raiders Snowmobile Club, and a member of the Taborton Fire Dept. He was also a member of the American Legion, where he loved to help at the chicken BBQs. Donald loved his grandchildren, and one of his biggest joys was watching them grow up.

Survivors in addition to his wife Candy, Donald is survived by his children Tao Amadon (Michael) and Hope Greene (Joel); grandchildren Kayden and Eli Amadon, Coleden and Talynn Greene; sister Marilyn Tate; and nephews Danny and Derek Criss.

A Celebration of Life will be held on a future date at the Zion UCC of Taborton, followed by interment in Taborton Cemetery.
