Douglas J. Anderson

Schodack-Douglas J. Anderson, 72, of Richwood Drive died suddenly on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at his residence.

Born in Troy, Doug was the son of the late George E. and Gertrude A. Fruh Anderson. He grew up in Troy and the family later moved to Sand Lake and Doug graduated from the Averill Park High School Class of 1971. He entered the Navy in 1975 and was honorably discharged in 1978. Douglas worked for a short time at Skyway Roofing before working for the Troy City School District where he was a custodian. He retired after 30 years there. 

Survivors include his daughter Cecilia McLean of Castleton, brothers and sisters George E. (Nancy) Anderson of Troy, Barbara (Glenn) Berner of Averill Park, Regina S. (Charles) Ferguson of Hoosick Falls, Elizabeth V. King of Pittstown and Catherine J. (Matthew) Bergmann of Averill Park, his grandchildren Aidan and Ainsley McLean and several nieces and nephews. Doug was the brother of the late Paul S. (Kerry) Anderson.
