West Sand Lake- Gary W. Daus, 67, of Route 150, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Albany Medical Center. Born on August 8, 1958, he was the son of the late William G. and Doris Allen Daus.

Gary was a lifelong Wynantskill area resident. He graduated from Troy High School in 1977, and was a local volunteer fireman, and a former Captain of the Wynantskill Fire Dept. Gary was also former member of the North Greenbush Ambulance, and a current member of the West Sand Lake Fire Dept. He was a huge fan of the LA Rams, and will be remembered as a very generous and loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Gary is survived by his son, Bill Daus (Susan) of Schenectady; daughter, Jessica Daus; brothers Allan Daus (Sandy) of Wynantskill, Michael Daus (Marion) of Wynantskill, James Daus of Nassau, and Richard Daus of Easton; sister, Theresa Coonrad (James) of East Poestenkill; grandchild, Carley Daus; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service 10 am on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the Oakwood Cemetery, Oakwood Ave, Troy, NY. Please meet at 9:45 am at the Oakwood Ave. entrance for a procession to the grave.

Following the service a reception will be held at the Sullivan- Jones VFW Post in Poestenkill, NY.

The family requests donations be made in the memory of Gary W Daus to the West Sand Lake Fire Co, PO Box 386, West Sand Lake, NY 12196.
