North Greenbush- Gordon A. Hull Sr., 83, of Rte 43, died on Friday, December 25, 2015 at the ElJen Convalescent Hospital in Las Vegas, NV after a short illness. Born in Sand Lake Gordon was the son of the late Marvin “Deck” and Esther Wehnau Hull and husband of Irene Dembishack Hull. Gordon was a 1952 graduate of the Averill Park High School where he was a member of the baseball and basketball teams. Gordon had served in the Navy from 1952-1956. In 1957 Gordon went to work at the Behr-Manning/Norton Company in Waterviliet and had retired in 1995. Gordon was a life member of the West Sand Lake Fire Company and had served as Chief from 1980-1982. Gordon was also a former member of the Sand Lake Ambulance. He was a life member of the Rensselaer Co. Fire Chief’s Assoc., the NYS Fire Chief’s Association was a former manager for the Twin Town Little League and was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill. Gordon was an avid hunter, sportsman and a Boston Red Sox, Celtics and Dallas Cowboys Fan.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his children Nancy (Terry) VanWormer of West Sand Lake, David (Beth) Hull of West Sand Lake and Gordon Hull Jr. of Schodack, his grandchildren Brandi (Larry) Piparo, Cole VanWormer and Jennifer (Jason) Ring and his great grandchildren Hailey and Amber Piparo. Gordon is also survived by nieces nephews and cousins.
Funeral Thursday 9:30 am at St. Jude the Apostle Church Brookside Ave. Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered.
Interment with military honors will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery West Sand Lake.
Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park on Wednesday 4 - 7 p.m.
