Poestenkill- Gregory G. Goodermote, 47, of Plank Road, East Poestenkill died suddenly on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after being stricken at his residence. Born in Troy, Greg was the son of the late Gilbert C. and Nancy E. Smith Goodermote and husband of Elizabeth “Sue” Ruppert Goodermote. Greg was a lifelong resident of East Poestenkill and was a graduate of the Berlin High School. Greg had enjoyed working on the family farm in East Poestenkill and had also helped at the Schmidt Farm. Greg had been a truck driver for Waste Management in Albany. He was a longtime member of the Poestenkill Fire Company and had served as President and was a past Assistant Chief. Greg was a 4-H leader with the Jogging Juniors 4-H Club and was a member of the Brunswick Presbyterian Church “The White Church” where he sang in the men’s choir.
Greg was the brother of the late Nancy Ann Roennpagel and uncle of the late Ashley Goodermote.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his daughter Erin E. Goodermote, his son Nathan G. Goodermote, his sister Gloria (Alan) Bentley, his in laws David and Veronica Ruppert all of Poestenkill along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the Brunswick Presbyterian Church 42 White Church Lane in Brunswick followed by a Service at 7 p.m.
If desired the family suggests donations in memory of Gregory G. Goodermote may be made to the Poestenkill Fire Co. PO Box 14 Poestenkill, NY 12140.
