Poestenkill- Harold E. Gardner, 91, died peacefully at home on Saturday, April 13, 2013. Born in Nassau, Harold was the son of the late Arnold P. and Beatrice Cummings Gardner and the beloved husband of Mildred Garner Gardner for 69 years. He was a lifelong resident of the area and had served in the Navy during WWII. Harold began his career in sales and soon became owner of Gardner Seed Co. at the Menands Farmers Market for many years. He enjoyed his early mornings with all who came to do business there. Harold took pleasure in traveling with his wife Millie throughout the US and Canada in their RV and spent many years wintering in Sebastian, Florida. He was a longtime member of the Odd Fellows Lodge # 641 in Averill Park and the Brunswick Presbyterian Church. Harold enjoyed the outdoors and especially mowing his lawn. His integrity, work ethic and love of family was passed on to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. 
Harold was the brother of the late Mildred Trombley, Lois Fitzgerald and Evelyn Hall. Survivors in addition to his wife include his children Donna Butterfield (Raymond Edwards) of Poestenkill, Deborah (James) Jewell of Averill Park, Deanna (Robert) Christiansen of Pittstown, Daryl (David) Kolator of Middletown, RI, James (Ann) Gardner of Averill Park and Darcy (Daniel) Mancino of East Greenbush., his sisters Doris Shaver and Phyllis Kimmey both of West Sand Lake, 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral Service Thursday at
10 a.m. at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park. Relatives and Friends are invited and may also call at the funeral chapel on Wednesday 4-7p.m. Interment Sand Lake Union Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Harold may be made to the Sand Lake Veterans Memorial Park, 171 Biittig Road, Averill Park, NY 12018. Visit perrykomdat.com for
