Averill Park- Henry A. Miner Jr., 82, of Greenman Hill Road, Town of Nassau, died on Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital after a short illness. Born in Hartford, NY, Henry was the son of the late Henry A. and Mary Miner Sr. and husband for 60 years to Doris M. Calhoun Miner who died on Sunday, June 23, 2013. Henry had resided in Troy and Albany before moving to Nassau in 1970 where he built his family’s home. Henry was a driver for CDTA and retired after 28 years of service years. He also drove for Mt. View Tours. Henry enjoyed farming his land and raising animals. Henry also enjoyed camping, fishing, snowmobiling, horseshoes, playing cards, square dancing and taking drives. Henry was the father of the late Henry A. Miner III. Survivors include his children Robert (Doris) Miner of Sand Lake, Barbara (Ken) Shoemaker of East Nassau, Susan (Joe) Bartlett of Lansingburgh, Donna M. (Bruce) Brenner of Hanover Township, PA and Joanne (the late Curtis) Conyers of Troy, his sister Ruth Westgate of Winter Springs, FL, 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Funeral Saturday 10 a.m. at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park. Relatives and Friends are invited and may also call at the funeral chapel on Friday 4-7 p.m. Henry and Doris will be interred at Memory Gardens, Colonie, NY. If desired donations in memory of Henry A.
