Howard D. Jones

d. December 28, 2018

Berlin- Howard D. Jones, 65, of East Road, left this life unexpectedly and without warning, remaining true to form on Friday, December 28, 2018. Born in Fort Dix, NJ, Howard was the son of Minnie Stewart Jones of Berlin and the late Harold D. Jones. Howard was well known for slipping out, unnoticed, of parties and family gatherings. Although quick-witted and always entertaining, he was a very private, solitary person. He was an avid Yankee and Jets fan since childhood. He lived and breathed those two teams; a true fanatic. Howard had a wealth of knowledge of trivia facts, song lyrics, sports stats, and old movies/TV shows. If anyone wanted to know anything, they’d say, “Ask Howard, he’ll know.” He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, and could yodel with the best of them. He was a graduate of Tamarac High School and Hudson Valley Community College. Howard was formerly employed for many years at Seagroatt’s Wholesale Floral in Albany and Hannaford in Wynantskill. He currently worked part-time in Berlin at Sustainable Aqua Farms.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his son, Austin Jones, daughter Laura Jones both of Troy, sister Catherine (Steven) Phillips of Berlin, brother Andre (Betty) Jones of Grafton, sister Robin (Ronald) Jacobs of Grafton, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and friends. Howard was predeceased by his sister Paula (Donald) Dixon of Berlin.
Per Howards request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. He will be loved and missed forever.
