Averill Park- Irwin H. “Irve” Link, 86, of Rte. 43 died on Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Van Rensselaer Manor. Irv was born and resided in the family homestead for many years. He was the son of the late Irwin E. and Jessie Snyder Link and brother of the late Jean L. Wilkins. Irve was a graduate of the Averill Park High School Class of 1949. After high school Irve entered the Navy and served from 1950 to 1953. He had been a truck driver for area firms including International Harvester and Rushmore and Weber. Irve was also a self- employed auto body repairman and a true Chevy-Man. After his retirement Irve enjoyed spending time in Florida during the winter months. Irve was a weight lifter for many years was a member of the area Corvette Club, the Sand Lake Kiwanis and the Walter Adams American Legion Post in Averill Park. He had more recently enjoyed the activities at the Southern Tier Seniors in Schodack.
Survivors include his daughter Leslie Rich of West Sand Lake, his son Ricky (Karen) Link of Selkirk, his granddaughters Lindsey and Alyssa Rich and Kristie and Samantha Link, his great grandchildren Conar and Kamryn
