Averill Park- Jacquelyn R. Rusin, 74, of Eastern Union Turnpike, Crooked Lake, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021 after a long illness. Born in Yonkers, NY, Jacquelyn was the daughter of the late John and Isabel Vinchkoski Jazzo and the wife of Richard A. Rusin since 2006. Jacquelyn was raised in Yonkers, and was a graduate of the Commerce High School Class of 1964. She was a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College and then SUNY Albany where she received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees graduating Phi Beta Cappa Suma Cum Laude. Jacquelyn worked for Berkshire Farm from 1975 until retiring in 2002 as a LAN/WAN Administrator in the Information Technology Department. She then pursued a second career at HVCC as an English Professor until she retired due to her illness. Jacquelyn resided in West Lebanon before moving to Averill Park over 30 years ago.
She enjoyed reading, writing letters to the editor and submitting her photographs to News Channel 13 in Albany. She was an active member of the Crooked Lake Association and had served as the Association Secretary. She was also a member of the Red Hat Ladies Society, a group of her closest friends.  She also loved gardening, cooking, crossword puzzles, especially the New York Times, the enjoyment of living on Crooked Lake, but most of all, the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and family. 
Jacquelyn was the former wife of the late Henry McGrath and sister of the late Raymond Jazzo.
In addition to her husband Richard, survivors include her daughters Elizabeth (James) Calkins and Colleen McGrath both of Pittsfield, her “bonus” daughter Army Col. Theresa (Dennis Brown) Rusin of Saranac Lake, her sister Linda Conte of Blauvelt, NY, and her grandchildren to whom she was known as “Grandma Bubbles”, Jack & Molly Trainor, Coral & Alina Brown, “Grandma Bubbles” also enjoyed her “bonus” grandchildren: Hunter & Jade Phair, Quinn & Morgan Breault, and Erin Trainor Correa.  She is also survived by her former son in law Jack Trainor.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call 11-1 on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park.
