Pittstown- James D. MacDonald, 52, of Storm Hill Road, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital. Born in Troy, Jimmy was the son of the late David J. and June Merritt MacDonald and the devoted husband for 30 years to Mary Jane Fearnley MacDonald. Jimmy was raised in West Sand Lake and attended the Averill Park Schools. He had a career driving for several area businesses and at the time of his death had worked for Albany Transport Inc. since 2000 where he was a driver/mechanic.
In addition to his wife Jimmy is the devoted “Daddoo” to Katie Anne (Vic) Angrisano of Averill Park, Jeremy and Shaquoia (Dillon) MacDonald both of Pittstown, brother of Scott (Jennifer Pratt) MacDonald of West Sand Lake, beloved “Pop-Pop” to Dillon Jr. and Mary Katherine uncle to David, Austin and Jacob MacDonald, Senior Airman Amy Rogers of the Air Guard and Heather Rivest, his close Uncle Dan Merritt, his extended family Jean, Max (Chrissy) and the late “Mikey”and his faithful canine companion Doc. Jimmy was predeceased by his canine sidekick Number One.
Jimmy enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking and “partying” with his friends and family. He was a friend to animals was a member of the NRA and was a longtime #1 KISS Fan.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 4-7 p.m. at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park on Monday, May 22 with a time to share Jimmy stories beginning at 6:45 so prepare yourself for those stories if you would like. In honor of Jimmy feel free to wear anything KISS. Following the service a celebration of Jimmy’s life will continue at the Sullivan – Jones VFW Post in Poestenkill.
Jimmy’s family wishes to thank the staff at Albany Medical Center Vascular Unit for the excellent care given to Jimmy during his stay, Cindy Bornt NP for her dedicated efforts with “Mr. MacDonald” and Jim’s Albany Transport Family for all of the kindness.
