Averill Park- James J. Morey Sr., 63, of Schreiner Way died suddenly on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the Albany Memorial Hospital after being stricken ill at home. Born in Troy and raised in Mechanicville, Jim was the son of the late Raymond Stanley and Florence Senecal Morey and husband of Cheryl Schreiner Morey. Jim had resided in Averill Park since 1974 and had been a laborer for various companies in the area including Shawnee pre cast, Vanderhyden Hall and area roofers. He enjoyed hunting, bingo and the casinos.
Jim was the brother of the late Edith Lape, Rose Quick, Florence Canfield, Irene Bartlett, Mary Alice Rose, George, Raymond and Alfred Morey.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his children Dale Morey of Belfast, NY; Daniel Morey of Friendship, NY; Julie Charron and James Morey Jr. both of Averill Park, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
