James M. Tinger

Averill Park- James M. Tinger Sr. 40, of Meadow Road died on Friday September 12, 2025 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. Born in Niskayuna, Jim was the son of the late James Tinger and Patricia Ennis. He is survived by his wife Kayla Tinger of Averill Park, his children Jimmy and Kallie Tinger both of Averill Park, sisters Britt Choppy of Voorheesville, and Alissa Williams of Troy, and brother Robert Hug of Texas, mother and father-in-law William and Cathy Schrump, sister in laws Keri Maldonado and Katie Schrump, his aunt Maureen Ennis of Albany, and uncles David Ennis of Rochester and John Tinger of VA. Along with nieces and nephews.

Jim was a lifelong resident of the Averill Park area and attended the Averill Park Schools where he participated in wrestling. Jim had a passion for cooking and found joy in cooking for others, savoring the warmth and connection it brought to the table. Jim had a joke for every situation putting a smile on everyone’s faces. Jim also enjoyed fishing on Burden Lake. Most of all Jim enjoyed spending time with his family.
