Averill Park- Jane DeBerry, 80, of Creek Lane, died on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at St. Peters Hospital in Albany after a short illness. Born in Washington D.C. and raised in Albany, Jane was the daughter of the late Harold J. and Ida E. Ryan Kearney and the beloved wife of 52 years to James W. DeBerry. Jane was a graduate of Holy Names Academy and Albany Business College. Jane had worked as a medical secretary for area Doctors and then as a Legal Secretary for area lawyers. She had moved to Averill Park after a her marriage. Jane loved being at home on Glass Lake and feeding her Geese, Duck and Bird friends that would visit her each day. Jane had a special friendship with her cat Lucky and especially loved watching her “shows” on her 55” television.
Survivors in addition to her husband include her son David (Gretchen) DeBerry of Colonie, her sister Ann (Steve) Williams of Glens Falls, her brother John (Kathy) Kearney of Colonie and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral 12 noon Monday, August 28, at St. Henry’s Church 39 Old Rte. 66 Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Angel’s Cemetery, Colonie.
Relatives and friends are invited and may also call Sunday, 2-5 pm at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park.
