Averill Park-Jeffrey Allen Lawrence, 57, beloved husband, son, father, brother, “pop-pop,” mentor and friend, passed away suddenly at his home on Glass Lake in Averill Park on Sunday, March 15, 2015. A life-long resident and champion of the Capital District, he earned his B.S. in mechanical engineering and MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He was the executive vice president at the Center for Economic Growth. His generous spirit, passion, genuineness and integrity inspired all who knew him. He is survived by his soulmate, best-friend and “other-half” Sharon Hitchcock Lawrence; his mother, Barbara G Lawrence (Joseph Landrigan), who instilled in him his love of people; his father, Jackson Lawrence (Betsy Owens), who taught him to be an analytic and scientific thinker; his siblings Jody Lawrence Balsamo (Stephen) and James Lawrence (Mary); his adoring daughters, Carrie Lawrence Lorence (Robert) and Rebecca Lawrence Fischer (John); his granddaughters, Claire Fischer, Regan, his “drop of golden sun” and Paige Lorence; and his in-laws Floyd and Jane Hitchcock, Debra Tremont (Dave) and F. Joseph Hitchcock. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the R.P.I. Chapel and Cultural Center 2125 Burdett Ave. Troy on Thursday March 19 3-6 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 7 p.m. The family suggest donations may be made to the Jeffrey Lawrence Innovation Fund at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, P.O.
