Joanne P. Sinkevich

Rensselaer- Joanne P. Sinkevich, 58, of Laura Lane, passed away at her residence on Thursday, March 9, 2023 after a long hard-fought illness. Born in Albany, Joanne was the daughter of the late Marion Carhart Hayford and wife of Mark Sinkevich. Joanne was raised in Stephentown and had resided in Rensselaer for 30 years. Joanne worked at the former Whitehouse adult home in East Greenbush before doing home care for privately for people. She worked until her illness would not allow her to. Joanne enjoyed crafting, was family oriented, enjoying get togethers which included lots of love, laughter and food.

Survivors in addition to her husband include her children Mark Sinkevich Jr. of Rensselaer, Heather Sinkevich of Alaska and Jennifer Wilcox of Averill Park. Joanne was the sister of Bruce W. Bargy of West Sand Lake, Beverly Tatem of Riverside, GA, Kathleen M. Bargy of Rensselaer, Toni Marie Bargy of Troy and the late James G. and Gerald B. Bargy. Joanne was also survived by 5 grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call 1-3:30 pm on Sunday, March 12 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park. A service will follow at 3:30.

A burial service will be held 10 am on Monday, March 13 at the Sand Lake Union Cemetery.
