Stephentown- John G. Schaudt, 68, of Rte. 43, died on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany after a short illness. Born in Troy, John was the son of the late John G. and Dorothy Bulster Schaudt Sr. and husband of Petra Zather- Weiskopf Schaudt. John grew up in Eagle Mills and was a graduate of Tamarac High School. John attended HVCC and then enlisted in the Army. He had served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged on December 7, 1971. John met his wife in Germany and they returned to the states where they resided in Eagle Mills before moving to Stephentown in 1978. John worked for Matson Construction and other local contractors before working for the Seagroatt Floral Company where he was a driver for 22 years. John had retired in 2001 due to illness. John enjoyed cutting his firewood, working with his bulldozer, furniture making, carpentry and masonry projects.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his children Frank Schaudt of Stephentown, Manuela ( Son-in-law Harold Davila) Schaudt of Brooklyn, Melissa (Shaun) Schaudt of Stephentown and Mark (Jinnette) Schaudt of Carmel, NY his grandchildren Trevor, Dohnovon, Owen and Johannes.
Relative and friends are invited and may call 1-4 p.m. Sunday, November 12 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m.A private interment will be for the family at the Gerald B H Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
