West Sand Lake- John James “Johnnie” Goska, 88, of Anglers Ct., Wynantskill died peacefully on Thursday, December 31, 2015 in the comfort and serenity of the St. Peters Hospice Inn in Albany. Born on March 25, 1927 in Weehawken, NJ, John was the son of the late Lawrence and Ellen Rogers Goska. John was a veteran of the Army and had served during WW II. John was a graduate of RPI with a degree in Architectural Structural Engineering and had resided in the area since 1954. He had worked for various steel fabricators before becoming self employed. John was an avid sportsman throughout his life and had played basketball into his seventies. He loved his family, all wildlife and sailing, he was loved and respected by all that crossed his path.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 64 years Yvonne Herpich Goska, his loving daughter Karen Goska- Jensen of Powder Springs, GA and Opie of Natalie Jensen and Neil (Ashleigh) Jensen. Brother of William (Connie) Goska, and Eleanor Shumaker and brother in law of Aloys (Suzanne) Heintz. Also survived by his feline companion Sweet Pea.
