John N. Smith

Petersburgh- John N. Smith, 69, of Plank Road, Town of Berlin, passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 after a long illness. John’s 70th birthday would have been August 31. John was born in Troy the son of the late John J. and Janet M. Knowlson Smith III and husband of Linda L. Bink Smith. John grew up in Grafton and was a graduate of the Berlin High School. John spent most of his working career in construction and he had retired in 2018 from D.A. Collins in Wilton where he was an Ironworker. John enjoyed woodworking and working in his shop. He had also done logging in his younger years.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his children Brandi (Justin) Tole of Bennington, VT, Mackenzie Smith of Glasgow, KY, Forrest Smith of Cosco, PA, Amber Lee of Colonie, Melissa Brown and Todd Brown both of Petersburgh and Jill Brown of Delmar, his sister Cathy (Charles) Hewitt of Grafton and several grandchildren.

Services will be private with burial in the Eagle Mills Cemetery.
