Troy-John Anthony Wieboldt, 63 of Troy, NY, passed away after a recurring illness on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. John was survived by wife Mona Douaihy, two stepsons, Youssef and Karim and siblings Robert (Marie) Wieboldt , Laurel (Reza) Karimi, Valarie Levay, Harriet (Myer) Gotz, Mavis (Thomas) Korosec, and Kristin (Robert) Adams. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved as his own. He is predeceased by parents Harold and Harriet Wieboldt and his siblings Richard Wieboldt, Patricia DeLucia, and Margaret Kaddo Mouawad.
John was trained by the US Army as a cook and for several years pursued a career in the restaurant business in New York City. He then found his true vocation, Automobile Restoration. Moving to the Capital District, John became proficient by working with several automobile restorers and dealers. He then moved to Canajoharie to care for his parents and became proprietor of Uptown Taxi. Later he moved to Troy operating as an independent auto restorer.
John loved dachshunds and had several well-loved pets. All who knew John, loved him for his warm heart, generosity, witty conversation and loyalty to friends and family. The family wishes to give a special thanks to John’s friends especially Jared Loomis and Eli Douaihy.
