Averill Park- Judy Tallman, 77, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, November 29, 2013 at the Van Rensselaer Manor. Judy was born in Fulton, NY and was the daughter of the late Fred and Robirda House. She was a graduate of the Fulton High School and attended Oswego State Teachers College where she met her husband to be, Richard. They were married in 1955 and moved to Averill Park that same year. Judy is survived by her husband of 58 years Richard L. Tallman Jr. and their 5 children: Debra (RI), Theresa (VA), Ronald “Jake” (Brunswick), Karen (CO) and Michael (Wynantskill). Judy is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Besides raising their 5 children she worked as a retail clerk, a substitute teacher in the Averill Park School District and a Pharmacy Technician at Albany Memorial Hospital. Judy loved being with her children and their families. She enjoyed cooking, baking and entertaining in her home. She loved traveling around the United States and her favorite vacation spot was Maine. She loved the outdoors, enjoyed walking, playing tennis and snow skiing. A special thank you to the nursing staff on the C2 unit at Van Rensselaer Manor for the tender loving care she received for the past two years. To honor Judy’s life a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday 10 a.m. at St. Henry’s Church 39 Old Rte. 66 Averill Park, NY. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at St. Henry’s Church on Monday 4-7 p.m. A private burial will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in Herkimer, NY.
