Wynantskill-Karl H. Buchholz Sr., 80, of Snyders Corners Road and a longtime resident of Averill Park, died suddenly on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy after being stricken at his residence. Born in the Bronx, NY, Karl was the son of the late Nicholas and Kati Felber Buchholz and husband of the late Loretta Quintal Buchholz. Karl was a life long resident of the Averill Park area having been raised and resided on Wisner Road until 1995. Karl was a 1950 graduate of the Averill Park High School. Karl was very proud to have served his country in the Marine Corp from 1951-1954.Karl had retired in 1994 from the Grand Union Warehouse in Waterford where he was a supervisor. He had worked for the company for 41 years. After his retirement Karl wintered in Punta Gorda Fla. during the winter months. Karl was an active member of the Kinderhook Seventh Day Adventist Church in Valatie and attended the Port Charlotte Seventh Day Adventist Church during his winter stay. While in Florida, Karl enjoyed fishing, shrimping and claming and during his time in New York he enjoyed his time swimming at the YMCA in East Greenbush and hunting. Karl was the brother of the late Walter L. Buchholz. Survivors include his devoted children Raymond K. (Bonnie) Buchholz of Averill Park, Brenda J. (Terry) Roy of Wynantskill, Karl H. Buchholz Jr. of Averill Park, Elizabeth A. (Thomas) Fogarty of East Greenbush, Kirk E. (Greg Owens) Buchholz of West Coxsackie and Edward (Jean) Buchholz of Rome, NY his brother Henry L. Buchholz of Grey, ME 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Friday 6p.m. at the Kinderhook Seventh Day Adventist Church 3429 US 9 Valatie, NY. If desired donations in memory of Karl H.
