Kay E. Reese

West Sand Lake- Kay E. Reese, 77, of Rte. 150 passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 30, 2023 after a brief illness.

Born in Elmira, NY on January 4, 1946, Kay was the daughter of the late Howard and Isabel Hatch. Kay was retired from the NYS Tax Department where she rose through the ranks, after graduating from Russell Sage College with a B.A. in Business. Prior to that, she worked briefly for the Sand Lake Advertiser while attending college and raising two young children. Kay enjoyed a bit of adventure, once traveling by car solo all the way to Alaska, the Arctic Circle and back! She enjoyed gardening, playing cards and was a talented seamstress and crafter. Kay lived for a period of time in Taborton where she volunteered with the fire department.  Other than spoiling and watching her granddaughters grow, her greatest joy was being outside and playing in the dirt whether in her own gardens or those she loved to tend at the camp at Seneca Lake. 

Kay is predeceased by her beloved sisters and brother in law, Judy and George Rossi and Gayle Hatch. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Jennie and Albert Glasser, her son, Brett Reese, her beloved granddaughters Shelby and Marcianna Glasser and many nieces and nephews. 

There will be no service at this time, the family will celebrate Kay’s life privately this summer.
