Torrington, CT.- Kenneth R. Windover Jr., 80, of Goshen Road died on Thursday August 14, 2014 at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington after a short illness. Born in North Greenbush, Ken was the son of the late Kenneth R. and Winifred Newell Windover Sr. and husband of the late Theresa Jordan Windover. Ken was a graduate of Union Springs Academy. He had served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was honorably discharged with the rank of Airman First Class. Ken was a longtime salesman for Culligan of Troy. Ken had retired in 2010 after 50 years of service. Ken was honored by being inducted into the Culligan Hall of Fame. Ken was a communicant of St. Henry’s Church in Averill Park and was a founding member of St. Henry’s Knights of Columbus and was a 4th degree knight. Ken had resided in the Averill Park area for many years, before moving to Savannah, GA, and most recently in Connecticut. Ken was the brother of the Deborah Brock. Survivors include his children Allan C. (Patty) Windover of Poestenkill; Mark E. (Patty) Windover of Southbury, CT; Paula McGehee of Baltimore, MD; Thomas L. Windover of Averill Park and John K. (Ginna) Windover of Poestenkill, his sister Dorothy Coffey of Tallahasee, FL., his brothers Douglas Windover of Loudonville, Roger Windover of Meyersville, TX and Everett Windover of Melrose. Ken is also survived by his 12 grandchildren Ashley (Eric) Redding, Samantha, Allan Jr. (Cole) Windover, Melissa, Carolyn, Michael, Catherine Windover, Glen Mercer, Amelia, Trisha Windover, Jay and Troy Windover. Ken was the longtime companion of Carmel Destefano of Torrington. Funeral Monday 11:30 am at St. Henry’s Church 39 Old Rte. 66 Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park on Sunday 3-6 p.m. Interment Memory Gardens, Colonie. If desired the family requests donations in memory of Kenneth R.
