Stillwater- Kevin D. Yerden, 65, of Rte. 423 died on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Warren Center in Queensbury after a long illness. Born in Troy, Kevin was the son of Donna M. Catlin Yerden of Poestenkill and the late Kenneth E. Yerden. Kevin was raised in Poestenkill and was a 1973 graduate of the Averill Park High School. At a young age, Kevin worked with his uncle David Catlin and learned the plumbing trade. He went on to join and do his apprenticeship with the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local #7 and then worked for Tougher Industries in Albany for many years where he was a Mechanical Superintendent. More recently he had been with the NYS Division of Construction as a Project Engineer until his illness caused him to stop working in 2020.Kevin had resided in Clifton Park and most recently in Stillwater for a number of years.. Kevin enjoyed hunting, had been a NASCAR fan enjoyed traveling to the coast of Maine to visit the lighthouses and was a John Deere fan.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his sisters Dawn (Rory) Dean of Lacona, NY. and Sonya (the late Kevin) DiGirolamo of Poestenkill, his brother Loren (Kathleen) Yerden of Troy, his companion and best friend Suzanne Yerden of Stillwater and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be private with burial in the Brookside Cemetery, Barberville.
If desired the family requests donations in memory of Kevin D. Yerden may be made to the First Baptist Church 12 Legenbauer Road Averill Park, NY 12180 or the Capital City Rescue Mission 259 South Pearl Street, Albany, NY 12202.
