Averill Park- Lawrence G. Miller, 79, a lifelong resident of Oak Hill Road died on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the Eddy Heritage House Nursing Center after a long illness. Born in Troy, Larry was the son of the late George and Florence Sowalsky Miller. In his younger years Larry worked the family farm and then had been a farm hand at the Reichard and Welch farms in Poestenkill. Larry had also worked for the Averill Park School District as part of the custodial staff for 10 years prior to his retirement. He was a communicant of St. Henry’s Church in Averill Park and had a love for his canine companions. Larry was the brother of the late Mildred R. Buckley and uncle of the late Raymond Johnson. Survivors include his sister Dorothy Johnson of Sitka, Alaska, his nieces and nephew Theresa Maloney, Michael Buckley and Kathleen Buckley along with 5 great nieces and nephews and his faithful companion Lucky. Private family funeral Friday 10 a.m. at St. Henry’s Church 39 Old Rte. 66 Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Interment St. Henry’s Cemetery. If desired the family suggest donations in memory of Lawrence G.
