Sand Lake- Lester C. Wagner, 78, of Lindeman Road died on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the Evergreen Commons Nursing Facility after a short illness. Born and raised in Albany, Lester was the son of the late Lester C. and Margaret Lynch Wagner and the beloved husband of Ethel Kahle Wagner. Lester was a graduate of Vincentian Institute and had served in the Army from 1961-1962. Lester had resided in Sand Lake since 1971 and had a career of over 30 years with the Postal Service in Albany where he had been a letter carrier. Lester was an avid reader and history buff camping at Moose River, hiking, hunting and time spent with his family especially his grandchildren. Lester was a communicant of St. Henry’s Church in Averill Park. Survivors in addition to his wife include his daughters Lisa (Robert) Lynch of East Nassau and Tina Wagner of Mechanicville, his son Lester (Jaimie) Wagner of Averill Park, brother Patrick (Margaret) Wagner of Ft. Meyers, FL. And his grandchildren Jenna and Lexy Lynch, Garrett and Olin Wagner.
Funeral 11 am Wednesday, October 11 at St. Henry’s Church 39 Old Rte. 66 Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered followed by burial in St. Henry’s Cemetery.
Relatives and Friends are invited and may call 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, October 10th at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake, Averill Park.
