Lois M. Hartnett

Poestenkill- Lois M. Hartnett, 91, a longtime resident of Rte. 351, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at the Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center in Troy after a long illness. Born and raised in the same house she resided in; Lois was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary E. Bradley Ryan and wife of the late Leo H. “Gabby” Hartnett. Lois was a 1952 graduate of Troy High and had a long career with the NYS Labor Dept. where she was Management Confidential.

Lois was a member of the Brunswick Historical Society was at one time a member of the Poestenkill music jam group and had attended the Community Church of Grafton. Most recently she had attended Connecting Point Church in East Greenbush.

Lois was the mother of the late Daniel L. Hartnett and James M. Hartnett and sister of the late Dorothy Lavigne and Robert “Bud” Ryan.

Survivors include her daughter Leona (Daryl) Gooley of East Poestenkill, her grandchildren Lauren (Keith) Algozzino of Poestenkill and William (Kathleen) Gooley of Malta and great grandchildren Mia and Gideon.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call 2-4 on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park, NY followed by a service.

Spring burial in the Hillside Cemetery Poestenkill, NY
