Sand Lake- Loren M. Dobert, 87, of Taborton Road died suddenly on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at his residence. Born in Sand Lake and a life long resident, Loren was the son of the late George H. and E. Iona Reinke Dobert and husband of the late Rose McDermott Dobert. After high school Loren served in the Army for two years. He returned to Sand Lake and had a long-standing career with Harry Linindoll Pest Control in Albany where he was an Inspector and Carpenter. He retired in the late 1990’s. Loren did Charcoal burning for many years and enjoyed repairing antique furniture. He enjoyed making crafts including basket weaving, chair caning and woodburning. He also enjoyed traveling around and visiting his many friends in the area.
Survivors include his sons Tony H. Dobert of Greenwich and Loren G. Dobert of Sand Lake, grandchildren Deanna Dobert and Tony J. Dobert, brothers Floyd G., Elton F. and Wayne L. Dobert, and sister Joyce Zyniecki. Loren was the brother of the late Elsie Cann, Marilyn Kern, Eleanor Bubie Laverne, Eugene, Clayton and Robert Dobert.
