Averill Park – Louis J. Angrisano, 64, of Dunham Hollow Road, Town of Nassau, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at St. Peters Hospital in Albany, surrounded by his family after an extended illness.

Born in Troy, Lou was the son of Judy Scott Angrisano of Sand Lake and the late Michael J. Angrisano. Lou grew up in Sand Lake and was a 1980 graduate of the Averill Park High School. Lou had participated in AAU Boxing and was on the high school football team.

Lou served in and was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Navy in the early 1980’s. His career was in the insurance industry starting at Prudential Insurance and then running the family insurance business, L.A. Insurance in Sand Lake. He partnered with his brother and operated the insurance office from 1995 – 2018.

Lou is now reunited with the half of him that has long been missing, his twin brother, the late Michael J. Angrisano who was tragically lost in 1982. Stories are still being told about Lou & Mike’s childhood. There wasn’t a shenanigan they didn’t do. From bringing home a goat named Bucky, and a pair of chickens named Bertha and Bare-Ass, to getting paid for their labors with a pair of Standard Poodles, their family would never know what they might bring home. After 45 years, Lou and Mike probably still hold some sort of record for the wildest graduation party.

Lou appreciated a party and spending time with his friends. He was known for always bringing way too much food to celebrate. He loved cooking a big feast, even if it wasn’t quite finished until late at night. He made a mean chili and some excellent baked beans.

Lou was a die-hard Miami Dolphins fan, a trait he passed on to some of his nephews. He enjoyed a good NASCAR race and had spent the last 24 years missing the late, great Dale Earnhardt. He loved all things sports and was known to always gift the baseball glove, the golf clubs, the boxing gloves, or the bowling ball. He would even try to give some lessons with those gifts. Lou lovedbeing outdoors, particularly if it was to go fishing. He enjoyed hunting and was a member of the Stephentown Valley Rod and Gun Club.

Even from when he was a kid himself, Lou always loved children. He would fight for his turn to snuggle the babies, and he was always being silly with the kids. He loved practical jokes, and is infamous for the “Oh, how does your cake smell?” joke (if you know, you know!). More than anything, he loved his girls. He was the biggest fan of his daughters. He was always bragging about what they were up to, or their bowling scores. And talk about a guy who was ready to be a grandpa! He was a very proud Papa who never missed an opportunity to show off pictures and trade stories about his grandkids.

Survivors in addition to his mother include his daughters Taylor M. Angrisano of Ohio and Morgan M. (Jalen Swan) Angrisano of Averill Park, his sisters Susan P. (Arthur) Stevens of Sand Lake and Lori C. (Paul) Vogel of Averill Park, his brother Matthew J. “Pudge” (Jennifer) Angrisano of Averill Park, his grandchildren Amiyah L. and Jaxson J. Swan, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
