Brunswick- Maria Catherine Daley Hull, 59, of Old Siek Road, a professor emeritus at Hudson Valley Community College, died on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Community Hospice at Samaritan Hospital after a long illness. Born in Albany, Maria was the daughter of the late Francis and Rafaella LaRosa Daley and wife of Douglas R. Hull. Maria was raised in Clifton Park and was a graduate of the Shenendehowa High School. While in high school, Maria was a foreign exchange student in Austria. Maria went on to graduate from Oneonta State and HVCC. Maria started her career as an instructor in drafting at HVCC. She later started the computer and drafting program at HVCC. She had taught at HVCC for more than 30 years and was an associate professor prior to her retirement on January 4 due to her illness. Maria had many interests including her membership in the New York 77th Civil War Volunteers, the Mohawk Valley Weavers and the Rock Day Spinners. She was also a member and past president of the New York State Engineer Technology Association and was on the curriculum committee at HVCC. Maria enjoyed weaving, spinning, crafts, reading especially science fiction. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her step-daughters, Mary-Beth (Gordon Hull) Fuerst of West Sand Lake and Betty Ann (Barry Thompson) Hull of Brunswick; her brothers and sister, Frances Daley of Rhode Island, John Daley of Florida, Lorraine Daley of Utah and George Daley of Tennessee; her beloved adopted family, Deena Brooks, Deborah Shafer, Martin and Diane Eusepi, all of Clifton Park and five grandchildren. Funeral service, Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel, 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake in Averill Park. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral chapel on Tuesday from 2 to 7 p.m. Interment, Brookside Cemetery, Poestenkill. The family requests donations in memory of Maria Catherine Hull may be made to the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
