Mary C. Surprenant

Troy- Mary C. Surprenant, 83, of Meridian Court., died suddenly on Monday January 19, 2015 at her residence. Born in Troy Mary was the daughter of the late Charles and Carmela Tagliarini Castiglione and wife of the late Harry A. Surprenant Sr. Mary was raised in Troy and was a graduate of Troy High School. She had resided in Sand Lake from 1965- 1987 before moving back to Troy. Mary had retired in 1994 from the Niagara Power Corp. in Albany where she had been a Secretary/ Clerk for 22 years. Mary had previously worked at the Capital District Cooperative Insurance Co. in Sand Lake and at the State of New York. Mary enjoyed cooking, traveling and time spent with her family. Mary was the sister of the late Joseph Castiglione and Tina Tash.
Survivors include her sons Glen (Alicia) Surprenant of Sand Lake, Brian (Maria) Surprenant of Troy and Harry (Marlene) Surprenant of Sand Lake her sister Lena Flynn of Oklahoma, her brother Paul Castiglione of Binghamton, her grandchildren Jordan, Glen Jr. and Haley and her great grandson Glen Surprenant III.
Service Thursday 7 p.m. at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral chapel on Thursday 4-7 p.m. prior to the service. 
An Interment Service will be held on Friday 11 a.m. at St. Henry’s Cemetery Averill Park.
