Lanesboro, MA. - MaryAnne Schiermeyer, 60, of Old State Road formerly of Averill Park, NY died suddenly on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at her residence. Born in Albany, MaryAnne was the daughter of the late William F. and Joan Siels Schiermeyer. MaryAnne grew up in Averill Park and was a 1976 graduate of the Averill Park High School where she had been a member of the basketball, baseball and track teams. She was a graduate of HVCC and attended Memphis State University in Tennessee on a full basketball scholarship. She finished her education at Russell Sage College with a degree in Physical Education and had been an assistant coach at HVCC. MaryAnne had many interests through the years including the Richmond Community Church, leading a senior bible study group and volunteering at the Sonsini Animal Shelter.  She loved traveling to Cape Cod and driving her Jeep through the sand dunes.
​Survivors include her longtime partner Marian Gennette of Lanesboro (daughter Krystal and family), brother William J. (MaryAnn) Schiermeyer of Averill Park, her sister Julieanne (Philip) Liebner of Averill Park, her canine companion Cassie and 5 nephews, a niece and several grandnieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park followed by a service at 7 p.m.
Interment in the Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont.
Donations in memory of MaryAnne may be made to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter or the National Alliance on Mental Illness (Berkshire County) sent in care of the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel, 2691 NY 43, Averill Park, NY 12018
